I Care's philosophy is to provide professional, compassionate care to all our clients at all times, with a person centred approach.
1) To ensure that there is an initial and ongoing asessment of clients' needs. The care plans are created with the full involvement of the individuals and their relatives. Where appropriate, I Care will liaise with advocates for the clients who have been assessed as lacking Mental Health Capacity (MHCA)
2) I Care's clients are encouraged where ever possible, to choose the individual staff they wish to be involved in their care. This includes choosing the sex, ethnicity etc of the carer.
3) I Care's clients are encouraged to make their own choice of time and duration of their visits, wherever possible.
4) I Care supports clients' rights, both as a philosophy and as a matter of policy. This includes:
Enrolment Process I Care’s enrolment process includes a full interview, enhanced DBS check, obtaining two references from previous employers and an induction. During induction, new recruits will work with management or senior staff in supervision, where they will be guided, trained and monitored in the practical aspects of care. New recruits will also be given full training in the 15 Standards of the Care Certificate. They will be subject to regular spot checks as part of the assessment criteria. Only when Management are happy that all standards have been passed to a high quality will the induction be complete. All staff are placed on a three month probationary period, where their performance is monitored. All staff are subject to regular Spot checks and Supervision and Appraisal meetings to ensure safe working practices.
